1994: B.A. Biological Sciences, University of Chicago.

2002: Ph.D. in Biology (Advisor: Prof. Thomas Mitchell-Olds, Concentration: Population Genetics), University of Montana, Missoula, MT.

2002-2004: Post-doctoral Fellow, Department of Genetics, University of Barcelona, Spain (with Prof. Montserrat Aguadé).

2004-2009: Post-doctoral Research Fellow, Population and Comparative Genomics Group, Department of Informatics, Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, UK (with Dr. Emmanouil Dermitzakis).
